Holmen Pattern
The pattern has a babydoll style front with loose fitting gathered tiers, and skinny shoulder straps. The open back has a deep gathered cut, and is connected with ties.

Holmen Sewing level: Advanced Beginner/ Intermediate
This pattern is an advanced beginner/ intermediate level. The most difficult techniques used to create this garment are gathering the front and back, and creating and adjusting the straps.
Fabric type:
This style works with a wide variety of lightweight to medium woven, non stretchy fabrics. Choose fabric with some hold, such as cotton poplin, sateens, linens or even jacquard, brocade or organza fabrics, for a more dramatic and voluminous style. Using more drapey fabrics, such as cotton batiste or viscose fabrics will result a more romantic and flowy dress or top. Sheer fabrics are fine as the top or dress is partly or fully lined. Lining: Either use the same fabric as your main fabric or choose a lining fabric. We recommend to match the drape and hold of your main fabric.
Sizing & fabric requirements: See photos.
Notions: Thread, and approximately ½ meter (19 5/8") of soft, narrow (5-10 mm or 1/4-3/8") and non-stretch ribbon or fabric tape (not bias tape), such as cotton webbing, soft cotton tape, grosgrain, sateen, or velvet.
Techniques used:
Gathering, and creating and adjusting straps.

The PDF pattern consists of multiple PDF documents: Instructions, pattern with bodice and upper tiers (size 34-46, 46-60 and 60-74) and pattern with lower tiers (size 34-46, 46-60 and 60-74). All sizes comes in A0 file format and A4 file format.

The dress version cuts just above the knees and the top cuts at the hip.
